Cheshire and Warrington businesses were offered a glimpse of Disney’s unique and world-famous approach to leadership and customer service during a special masterclass held this week.
The event, representing the first ever visit to the Northwest by representatives of the Disney Institute, was organised by Cheshire & Warrington Economic Alliance (CWEA), in partnership with local tourism board, Visit Chester & Cheshire.
More than 80 senior business leaders and representatives from Cheshire and Warrington’s key hotels and tourist attractions leisure and other businesses attended the event at Bentley Motors’ ‘Legends’ conference Centre in Crewe.
Martin Lee, Chief Executive of CWEA, commented: “Businesses are facing unique challenges and operating in a difficult economic climate. It’s perhaps more important than ever that they stay on top of their game and I hope that initiatives such as this masterclass will help them maintain an edge. I anticipate that this will be the first of many such masterclasses organised by CWEA and I am discussing a return visit by the Disney Institute for 2009.”
“Many of the smaller organisations that attended today’s event would never have had this opportunity and we are grateful for Cheshire Skills Development Company for providing the funding that enabled this event to happen.”
Chris Brown, Chief Executive of Visit Chester & Cheshire, added: “To achieve and maintain the status of being a globally-recognised, successful and loved brand takes a great deal of planning and sustained effort.
It was inspirational for participants to hear how Disney approaches and maintains its standards of service and leadership. I hope that those who took part will take away the approaches that underpin Disney’s success story and use them to add value to their own businesses.”
