Following local government re-organisation on 1st April 2009, the Cheshire and Warrington sub region is now comprised of the following Local AUthorities:
Cheshire West and Chester Council
The area is diverse with a wide range of properties for new or expanding businesses, an innovative outlook, entrepreneurial spirit and access to the main transport networks. International connections can be made at both Manchester International and Liverpool John Lennon Airports, both of which can easily be accessed from this area.
Cheshire and Warrington offers a highly skilled and flexible workforce, with two successful and expanding Universities at Chester (University of Chester) with a campus also in Warrington; and Crewe (MMU Cheshire) and close to internationally respected universities in nearby Manchester and Liverpool. The area also has established, prestigious business and science parks presenting unrivalled opportunities for growth, excellent motorway links and an outstanding environment for both work and leisure.
Each local authority area has a wide choice of schools and colleges, producing examination results which consistently exceed the national average. Residents enjoy a high quality of life and Cheshire and Warrington is an ideal location for families. In addition it boasts a modern, highly developed industrial base and is home to some of the most successful multi-national companies in the world, including AstraZeneca, Bentley Motors, MBNA and Vauxhall Motors.
