Rural Economy

Rural Enterprise

Cheshire, Warrington and Halton Rural Enterprise is a grant initiative which commenced in 2003 in order to support a range of regeneration activities in rural Cheshire, Warrington and Halton.

Over £10m has been made available, provided by the NWDA, to fund a variety of projects including direct support to businesses, physical improvements to our market towns and villages, as well as supporting the agriculture sector, tourism, the environment and communities. The funding runs through to March 2008.

A key initiative is the Rural Enterprise Gateway (REG) -  a rural business centre established in April 2005 based at Reaseheath College, Nantwich. REG offers a range of business support services including advice, guidance, signposting and access to training for rural businesses in Cheshire, Warrington and Halton.
