Cheshire has more gardens and garden centres open to the public per head of population than anywhere else in the country.

Next year, this remarkable horticultural heritage will be celebrated during Cheshire Year of Gardens ‘08’.

The event will highlight the range and diversity of the County’s Gardens of Distinction – from the manicured grounds of great houses, such as Arley Hall and Lyme Park, to secret and secluded jewels like Hare Hill, Dunge Valley and Mount Pleasant Gardens. The Year, which will complement the Capital of Culture festivities in Liverpool, will provide interest for everyone – even those who would not normally visit gardens.
